It seems to be a great idea if people blogging, tweet, YouTube, Flickr and Facebook even while they are travelling or on a tour...well it keep them engage with something that enables them to take out the best of their creativity and innovation...and also generating some kind of revenue as well for them....isn't it?

Great to see that the traveling industry finally moves up with the time and using social media to increase the revenues in their industry. Can't wait till other countries are offering the same thing!

I'll go one better - I don't need the parfait! Then again, I live in Marin county, California so that "free trip to the local DQ" would have to include the cost of the flight and rental car.... :-)

Most travel writers get the perks you mentioned above.

Likewise, most movie reviewers and food critics get the same perks too (though for movies and food respectively). Having been there and done that, it's not as exciting as you might think. I'd still prefer the freedom of working from home.

But those campaigns are pretty great linkbait/generated good buzz.
