  • Aaron · 1 year ago
IMHO is "In my _humble_ opinion". Sometimes used sarcastically.
  • digg lover · 1 year ago
this is a tremendous resource!!! but where's 'fap'?

@aaron according to urban dictionary and lots of other sources, the 'h' in IMHO can stand for either 'honest' or 'humble'(or even 'holy')

Slashdot is "Digg-like"? WTF? Were you born in 2000, or did Digg pay you for this article?

Most of the acronyms came from IM and SMS, while most of the geek jargon started on sites like Slashdot. And if anything, Digg is more similar to Fark or Fazed than Slashdot, except that:

    - Fark & Fazed have little color-coded category indicators in the list, making it much more convienient to scan through.

    - Fark & Fazed focus on cool/interesting/weird stuff. Digg is like Fark/Fazed meets news.google.com and people's random boring bookmarks, leaving you sorting through the mess to find the good stuff.

    - The amount of NSFW material is mysteriously much lower on Digg. Apparently the bury brigade are more uptight than the average geek.

As far as Internet geekdom goes, Digg is the mainstream - Fark and Fazed are where it's at.

    TLDR
  • Stupid · 1 year ago
This is stupid. There is no such thing as 'Digg speak.' The words used on Digg are just words that gained their etymologies from the INTERNET.

    Stupid.

On Digg, having something to say is only half the battle, knowing how to say it is the other half. This guides you to dissect the jargon, people and memes used in comments on a daily basis. Each section is broken down in detail to help you boost your Digg cred the next time that you leave a comment.

This jargon definitely goes along with several other sites...but you know when "D&D" is incoporated into the list, that you're dealing with some interesting folks.
