Almost everyone is doing social marketing these days, but very few know how to get the most of it.Many people promote only their own stuff on the sites and get banned, when you really should participate and share useful content, not marketing pitches.

Unfortunately a lot of companies that claim to know something really don't know a lot. It is similar to SEO...the buzzwords that get people to react, but a lot of companies have no data or client list to prove their theories. I do hope more information and truth will help the masses.

We were just having a discussion here on how to do more educating with our clients on social marketing. We do a lot of implementing for some, but there is still a disconnect for most. Your list is a good summary of what we run into every week.

I don't understand why a business would feel like it would be expensive to take on social marketing. Like you say, it's mostly a lack of education.
